After completing a B.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Exeter, Christina Comtesse studied at the London School of Contemporary Dance, The Place. After a short time working in London with “181 Dance” and “The Danceband” as well as teaching at Middlesex Polytechnic and The Place, she was offered a contract with the State Theatre Osnabrück, Germany. Afterwards, followed engagements in Bremer Tanztheater, and the Berliner Volksbühne, dancing eleven years for Johann Kresnik. From 2004 to 2006 she was engaged as Rehearsal Director in Luzerner Theater Switzerland, from 2006 to 2014 as Rehearsal and Deputy Director in Staatstheater Darmstadt, Germany and from August 2016 to 2018 she was resident choreographer for Landestheater Linz Austria. She has worked as a guest trainer/assistent with many famous names such as Johann Kresnik, Reinhild Hoffmann, Ismael Ivo, Carolyn Carlson and is currently a freelance choreographer choreographing for a wide range of productions including dance, opera, musical, and acting. Amongst just some of the theatres Christina has worked in, are the Komische Oper, Volksbühne and Schaubühne in Berlin, Heidelberg, Staatstheater Cottbus, Bonn, Gießen, Konstanz, Krefeld/Mönchengladbach in Germany, Graz, Baden und Landestheater Linz in Austria, Luzerner Theater und Bühnen Bern in Switzerland.

She has successfully reconstructed three of Johann Kresnik's works “Ulrike Meinhof”,
“Sylvia Plath” for Staatstheater Darmstadt and "Macbeth” for TANZLIN.Z.
Her newest productions have been „Jemand, Ein Hommage an Johann Kresnik“, CCB
Carinthia, Austria, director Hannes Hametner, set-design Gottfried Helnwein, "Cabaret" für
Baden bei Wien, and as co-director and choreographer for "Tanz der Wut" Kempten,
"Tristan and Isolde" and "Kleider Machen Leute", Staatstheater Cottbus and as director and choreographer for "Lysistrata", Theater Kempten.
